1. Who we are
Taeleem ERP (“Taeleem”, “we”, “us”) provides school management software for institutes, including a web portal and the Taeleem ERP Android app (com.taeleem.app). Schools use Taeleem to manage students, staff, attendance, fees, examinations, and related school operations.
For most student and parent records, the school that enrolled you is the data controller. Taeleem processes that information on the school’s behalf to deliver the service.
2. Scope
This policy covers:
- the Taeleem ERP mobile app for parents, students, and teachers;
- the Taeleem web portal at taeleem.pk / app.taeleem.pk and school subdomains;
- related APIs at api.taeleem.pk.
3. Information we process
Depending on your role (parent, student, teacher, or school staff), we may process:
- Account data: login ID or registration number, password (stored hashed), role, and school/campus assignment.
- Student profile: name, photo, parent/guardian name and contact details, class, section, session, registration/admission number, and academic status.
- School records: attendance, daily diary/classwork, upcoming assessments, examination marks and DMC/results, discipline notices, and fee/voucher information.
- Teacher data: staff profile, class assignments, attendance marking, curriculum, and exam marks you enter.
- Live class data: if you join an online class, we process audio, video, and screen-share streams for the duration of the session. Streams are used to deliver the class and are not sold.
- Device and app data: device push-notification token, app version, crash/diagnostic information, and IP address used to connect to our servers.
- Permissions the app may request: camera and microphone (live classes), notifications, network access, and related media permissions required by the operating system.
We do not require advertising IDs for ads. Taeleem does not sell personal information and does not use student records for third-party advertising.
4. How we use information
- to authenticate you and show the correct school, campus, and child/student records;
- to display dashboards, attendance, fees, diary, assessments, and results;
- to let teachers mark attendance and enter marks;
- to run live online classes;
- to send school-related push notifications (for example attendance or announcements) when you allow notifications;
- to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix technical issues;
- to meet legal or regulatory requests when required by law.
5. Children’s information
Taeleem is used by schools and families. Student records may include information about children under 18. That data is provided by the school and/or a parent or guardian. The app is not directed at children creating accounts on their own for marketing purposes. Parents should use official school-issued login details only.
6. Sharing
We share information only as needed to operate the product:
- Your school: authorised school staff can see records they are permitted to access in the ERP.
- Service providers: hosting, push notifications (for example Google Firebase / FCM for Android), and infrastructure partners who process data under our instructions.
- App stores: Google Play receives the information you submit as part of app distribution and crash reports you choose to send to Google.
We do not sell personal data to data brokers or advertisers.
7. Retention
We retain account and school records for as long as the school’s Taeleem subscription is active and as required for the school’s academic and financial records. When a school asks us to delete a tenant or a record, we delete or anonymise it from active systems, subject to legal backup and accounting retention.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and role-based access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please keep your password confidential and log out on shared devices.
9. Your rights
You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information by:
- asking your school’s administration first (they control most student records); or
- emailing us at privacy@taeleem.pk.
You can disable notifications in device settings. You can uninstall the app at any time. Uninstalling does not delete school records held for the institute.
10. International processing
Servers and processors may be located outside Pakistan. Where we transfer data, we do so to provide the service to your school.
11. Changes
We may update this policy when the product or the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use of the app or portal after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
